Couples Training

"Double the fun!!! Who would have thought you could actually enjoy getting fit with your partner? Stephanie has enabled two very unfit and overweight people to take “togetherness” to a new level by helping us get in shape for our upcoming wedding and overseas honeymoon. In just nine weeks with Steph, we have achieved more than we did in twice the time at a local gym. Not only have we lost weight and gained muscle tone and cardio fitness, we have loads more energy and actually look forward to our training sessions. The amazing part of this is that, like most people, we are extremely time poor and before Steph, lacked the motivation to exercise after a long day at work or make time in our busy social schedule. Now we have no excuse not to work out. Stephanie is there at our door twice a week wearing a big smile and ready to take us through the paces of our tandem circuit training session ...and individual weight routines... Steph always varies the routines and is great fun to work out with. Exercise is definitely a big part of our lives now, and we look forward to moving and improving with Steph long after our big day in September."

"Steph’s workout plans provide exactly what we were looking for. As former competitive athletes in different sports, we are familiar with a wide range of exercises, and we are also no strangers to the discipline of training regimens. But previous programs became too routine, and in one instance caused unnessary injuries. We wanted a program that would be short, yet challenging, and at the same time produce results through a variety of exercises using lighter weights. In all respects, Steph's plans have met our expectations, and we’re learning new exercises that keep our workouts fresh and interesting. Pregnancy

"Get baby-fit with Steph…I did! When I first started training with Steph in April 2003 to get in shape for my upcoming wedding, I had no idea she would be helping me to get in shape for an even bigger time in my life – pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood! But that is exactly what she did. Soon after I returned from my honeymoon (January 2004), I became pregnant and really wanted to stay as healthy and trim as I could, particularly as I was going to be a not-so-young first time mum at 34. Because I had been training hard with Steph long after the ‘big day’ in September, I was fitter and slimmer than I had ever been when I began my ‘maternity’ training. Although Steph still pushed me hard during our weekly cardio and weights sessions, over the months she varied the routines to ensure I wasn’t harming my body or my baby, for example, Steph swapped my high impact exercises to low impact strengthening ones from around five months and adjusted my weights down a little as I got bigger.

I made a small investment in a heart monitor, which I wore to our cardio sessions and later to the weights sessions, so I could slow down
when I reached the threshold my obstetrician advised it was safe to exercise to – 140 beats per minute. In fact, my doctor was very supportive of my training sessions and observed over the course of my pregnancy what great shape I was in. Thanks to my two sessions a week with Steph and two or three days a week of power walking on my own, I stayed fit throughout my pregnancy and did not experience any of the feelings of cumbersomeness and breathlessness that many mums-to-be suffer. Even more importantly, I was in great shape to handle the long labour that fate had in store for me (three and a half days!) and the sleepless nights that come with a new baby. Now that I’m a mum, Steph is helping motivate me to lose some of those unwanted pregnancy kilos (not that there were to too many thanks to her in the first place). I am now looking forward to getting my body back into tip-top condition with Steph…so I can do it all over again in a year’s time!"

Mum's and Families

"After giving birth to my second child two years ago I decided to buy a gym membership and start exercising regularly. However, I only went twice before it just became too difficult to organise two children and a babysitter all at a suitable time. It was then I decided to look for a better solution - and I discovered Move’n’Improve. This suited me perfectly. Stephanie came to my house at a time that suited both me and my children and also eliminated the need to rely on babysitters.

I am currently pregnant with my third child and I wanted to stay as healthy and active as possible throughout my pregnancy. Stephanie has been a great support during this time by altering my weight and cardio sessions to cater for my changing body and my baby. I am enjoying still feeling active and am looking forward to getting my body back into pre baby shape again soon."

"Motivating yourself to get moving isn’t easy at the best of times, let alone after the birth of a baby or with a toddler always on the go. Luckily, Move ‘n’ Improve is there to keep me going, even when I feel like being a complete lazybones. With two sessions a week – one cardio and one weights – I was able to keep fit during my first pregnancy, lose my baby weight afterwards and get back in shape to do it all over again! Now I am pregnant with our second child, Steph is still there twice weekly to keep me fit and healthy for the strenuous times ahead (and I don’t just mean child birth). At 37, it’s not always easy to keep up with the demands of parenting a toddler while also running a business and a home. But reliably and punctually, Steph turns up at our door to push me to my limits so I can take it all on. (We don’t call her the Princess of Pain for nothing.) My association with Steph has been a long one, beginning with getting my husband and me looking our best for our wedding day (this was no mean feat – and resulted in me dropping a dress size permanently) . Since that day in early 2003, I can only say that I have become stronger, fitter and more toned each year. I am looking forward to seeing how much better Steph and I can make my body after the arrival of our baby in July. Thanks Steph, we couldn’t do it without you."

Mums & Daughters


"I firstly became involved with Personal Training in Nov 2005. I have always made excuses not to get involved in exercise: such as I'm a shift worker, I don;t have time. After my first appointment with Steph, I set my intentions to look and feel more confident. I weighed in at 75kg;s and body fat of 44%. Since Christmas time this year I set my intentions to increase my training regime to twice week and do regular cardio sessions with my daughter Kara. Once a week, Kara & I meet with Steph and run approx 5km's together and often have a laugh along the way. Before Xmas time, running 200m was something i couldn't do, nor was it something i had any desire to do! However Kara and I have persievered with the training and in a few short months we now run that distance at a comfortable pace together and often have a laugh with each other along the way. While i still concentrate on Cardio on my own as well, the extra mother / daughter cardio session once a week is now an event i look forward to, and it gives me time to spend with my beautiful daughter....we often catch-up on each other lives and ensure each other is on track! It is a great way for us to keep aligned and to see results!!!

We love it! I have now reached my goal weigh, 62kgs and have decreased in clothing from size 14-10. I feel so confident and just love the attention I attract from family, friends and work colleagues; they all state how youthful, trrim and healthy I'm looking. Never before have I been able to achieve this weight management. Personal training has taught me discipline and changed my mindset. I have echoes of Steph motivating me to reach my goals and it goes like this "Stay strong Trisha" "you can do this"; these words have strengthened my mind and taught me , yes, I can do this and helped me to meet and beat my challenges. In life we need motivation to achieve our goals and thanks so much to you Steph, I'm so much stronger and on track for being involved with move-n-improve."
