Strength Training
Strength training Move 'n' Improve style is never dull or repetitive. Variety
is the flavour of the day and there is plenty of choice!
Every strength training session at Move 'n' Improve begins with a warm-up. This
may involve some boxing (which even the older ladies love), aerobics or some
step work. Following this the strength training begins and may take one of three
forms:
Traditional Weight Training
A session of your traditional weight training involves a series of compound
exercises with some upbeat, energizing music in the background. A compound exercise
is an exercise that will work not just one muscle but a few muscles at the same
time. Consider both of these…working one muscle at a time across your
whole body or working a few muscles in one go…which one do you think is
going to be the most efficient, the safest and the least time consuming? Yes
the compound exercise of course! In effect your are killing a few birds with
the same stone!

Slow Weight Training
Slow weight training is simply your traditional weight training…in a superslow
mode! The weight is lifted in a very slow manner, each repetition taking 20
seconds! This is a very demanding type of training for your muscles but a very
effective one as well. It's a favourite for building up strength faster as well
as an efficient fat burner. This session executed with slow relaxing music in
the background had a meditative effect in itself. You walk out feeling not only
well worked-out but calm and relaxed as well!
